About Us

Who are we?

The Record Breakers were founded in 2011 as "The Kirstin & Ryan Duo".

Kirstin and Ryan met studying music at Southern Cross University in Lismore. They started the Kirstin & Ryan Duo based around a shared passion for harmonies and unique cover versions of classic pop and rock tunes.

In 2014 they moved to the Illawarra and met Adrian Herbert (better known as Red) who has a passion for all things percussion, and we mean ALL things percussion! After featuring Red for a few gigs they changed their name to The Record Breakers and really started to make a name for themselves in the Illawarra.

The Record Breakers enjoy playing music from all eras but especially enjoy putting their own spin on classics from the '60s, '70s and '80s. The band are most at home with close vocal harmonies and percussive rhythms.

In 2017 The Record Breakers began playing as a band with many fill in members along the way, including Andre Corban (Drums), Dave Quinn (Bass), Jake Pember (Bass), Pauly Pozzacchio (Drums) and Matt Bresolin (Bass).

In 2019 Michael Manzini joined the band on bass for a more permanent role.

The Record Breakers absolutely love playing as a band and getting the opportunity to turn our acoustic sound electric (it also gives Ryan a chance to bring 5 or 6 extra guitars along...)

The Record Breakers are staples to the local Illawarra scene and are favourites at the absolutely stunning The Farm's Market at Killalea State Park, Bulli Showground Markets, Kangaroo Valley's The Friendly Inn, Kiama Leagues Club, Sussex Inlet RSL and many more venues.
